The
Worship Experience
The
life of a church centers around its worship.
There are multiple styles of worship, and there is no
one "right" style, or one that guarantees
some sort of perfect experience.
At
Krum UMC, we seek to provide worship that encourages
those present to become more aware of both the transcendance
and the immanance of our Holy God. In other words, we
need to recognize that God is something indefinable,
way beyond what we can even imagine. Yet in that indefinable
essence, there is a sense in which we may appreciate
and experience the fullness of God in the present moment.
We
are aided in our worship experience at Krum by an excellent
choir, ably directed by Jennifer
Scoggin. Jennifer brings a powerful background of
classic church music and this choir produces some of
the best sound around.
The
main worship begins at 10:55 a.m. with welcome and
announcements. Children are invited to all
worship experiences and there is always a children's
sermon--a special time just for the little ones. We
also provide "quiet bags" for each child
and they have different activities in them each week.
We also have a quiet Service
of Morning Prayer at 9:00 each Sunday morning.
The message is the same as the 11:00 service, and
we also celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday at the
9:00 service. On Wednesday nights when the
adult Bible study meets at 7:00 p.m., we end with
a Service of Evening Prayer as we take the time to
pray for our extensive prayer list.
