News and Information from
Krum United Methodist Church

OK, so it's not quite the building we had in mind, but . . .
. . . construction is underway on the new facility. Progress is slow--both weather and engineering issues have slowed things down, but we are still looking for a late November/early December completion date.

Sunday, May 18 Worship News

This is an extra special Sunday. Ten of our youth will be confirmed, and four of them baptized as well as confirmed. A number of other people are joining the covenant community of Krum United Methodist Church.

A Sunday like this gives all of us a chance to re-affirm our own understanding of what it means to be a part of the church, both local and universal. It's a time of both great celebration and great solemnity. When a child or adult confirms his or her faith and becomes a full member of the church, it means a renewal of baptismal vows, and a much stronger and more intentional awareness of the nature of God and goodness and brokenness and separation and the powerful gift of reconciliation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So, come and celebrate this time and also hear some special music by our spectacular choir as they bring us a concert of spirituals.

Also, Wednesday, May 14, at 6:00 p.m., we're having a special dinner to honor the confirmands and their families. Come on by and offer them your support and congratulations!

A Computer Meltdown . . . .

The phone above is not an actual picture of Christy’s computer, but is not far from where it is headed. Though Vicky has resuscitated the computer once, it is unlikely that she will be able to pull off that minor miracle again. She has however found a very good deal on a NEW computer with the needed power to enable Christy to work effectively and efficiently. Unfortunately, we did not budget for a computer meltdown and are therefore asking if anyone would like to fulfill this need. The cost of the new computer is $450; we do not need a monitor. If you are interested in making just such a donation please notify Vicky Russell, the church secretary at 940-482-3482. Computers are the boon and the bane of the modern world.

Thank you,

Kim Brown, Chair, Finance Ministry

Make Your Contribution Electronically (one less thing to remember). You can have your tithe automatically sent to the church and not worry about mailing the check if you missed church for a couple of Sundays. Electronic transfers are quite simple to set up whether just for the summer months or a longer time frame. The PDF attachment has two forms each consisting of two pages. The first form is for those of you that bank at First United Bank of Krum, which is where the church’s accounts are held. Obviously the second form is for all others. You may also contact your bank to create an “online bill pay” for this automatic transfer. Regardless of how you wish to complete this transaction, contact the church office 482-3482 for the church’s account information as needed.
