Senior Adult Ministries, additional information
Further ideas:
Put together emergency kits especially for those living alone. They will have three or four days of medicines, a list of all medications currently taking, a list of all physicians currently seeing and a list of all medical prodecures previously performed. Kits will also contain personal items like a toothbruch and comb and other things someone might need in a hospital stay. The bags will be kept next to the door to be retrieved if an emergency occurs. Paramedics in the area will be notified to look for them when picking up an elderly patient.
Check on those living alone with twice daily phone calls and an action plan in place when someone doesn't answer. This ministry will be combined with regular visits to our shut-ins and those in nursing homes. We will also do errands for them and give them rides to church, pharmacy, doctors, grocery store, etc.

We need to meet regularly for prayer and pray for these things:

  • our own salvation
  • the peace of the world
  • the clergy
  • our political leaders
  • our community
  • the weaterh
  • special needs
Get very involved in intergeneration ministry--this will be particularly important as we launch LOGOS, our mid-week program for children and youth of all ages.
