What is “Midweek
Miracle”? “Midweek Miracle”
is the name Krum UMC has given to its upcoming LOGOS ministry.
What is LOGOS?
LOGOS combines youthful fun and a focus on Christ every
Wednesday for young people in grades 1 through 12. It
is tried and true – used in churches around the
world. At Krum United Methodist, it will be a time for
youth and adults to join together, learning about the
Christian faith. Dozens of adult volunteers give their
time to lead play, teach, nurture and care for the youth
who come to LOGOS. In LOGOS, we celebrate positive relationships
through the model of Jesus Christ.
What does LOGOS mean?
Through translation, the Latin term LOGOS describes
"WORD." It's the way God has been shown to
us specifically as JESUS CHRIST (John 1:1-18).

The Four Parts
Each week LOGOS students join in four parts of the
LOGOS program. That includes:
Bible Study
This part of the program helps students learn about
Christ's love through discussion, lessons and outside
relationships with others. We study the Bible with
the help of dedicated teachers who seek to spiritually
challenge and enlighten all students at their own
age levels.
Worship Skills
We teach youth that they are important to GOD and
encourage them to get involved in worship. From time
to time, LOGOS students offer music or other gifts
to the congregation.
Recreation
One of the key elements of LOGOS is FUN. Games and
activities are part of each week's visit, and all
are safe and noncompetitive. There's always something
crazy or crafty going on during rec!
Family Time
Dinner is served! Each week we share a family-style
meal. Youth are invited to share important events
in their lives with their peers and adult table parents.
The meal is prepared by wonderful kitchen volunteers
and is followed by games.
|
Who can be involved?
The program enrolls youth in grades 1-12 but relies upon
many volunteers. Nursery care is provided for young children
while their parents volunteer. And many adults without
children in the program are involved. |
Something to think
about…
As compared to just a generation ago:
- The number of preschoolers living with a single
divorced parent has soared
- Eight out of ten young people believe they will
not live out a normal lifetime
- Suicide among youth under 15 is on the rise
- Reaching youth and nurturing them into discipleship
is among the most urgent tasks of the church today.
