Children's
Day Out
Our mission
is to provide a Christian education and environment
for young children of the community, and to show kind,
caring ministry for families.
Our program is designed to meet many of the physical,
emotional and spiritual needs of the children of the community.
It stimulates creativity and individuality, promotes Christian
values, and provides a preschool environment that prepares
children for the next level of education. CDO is a mission
extension of Krum United Methodist Church. It exists as
a service for parents who believe a preschool is beneficial
to their children, and for children who typically grow
to love their teachers and have fun.
Now Enrolling
for Fall, 2008
If you would like to enroll your child for
the fall program (children must be three years old by
September 1, 2008), please download the enrollment
form and the medical
release form, fill them out and send them, along with
your $50 non-refundable registration fee to: Krum United
Methodist Church CDO, PO Box 266, Krum, TX 76249. For

Note: we do NOT need copies of your insurance cards and
shot records until Meet the Teacher Night in August. However,
you are welcome to submit them with your enrollment form
if you want to do so.
CDO Tuition Rates
The monthly tuition fee is $130 and $115
for a second child. Tuition is due the first school day
of each month. Full tuition is due all months, (except
for any month that is specifically prorated by the director),
including the months of December, January, March and May.
Paying full tuition during these months helps keep the
cost of the program at a minimum.
Children’s Day Out offers an early bird program
for those parents who wish to drop their children off
between 8:00 and 8:50 A.M. The early bird fee is $2.00
per child, and can be paid by the day, week, or month.
CDO Schedule
Our CDO program meets each Tuesday and
Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. beginning Tuesday,
September 2, 2008 through Thursday, May 28, 2009. Children
must be picked up by 2:35 P.M. or a late fee will be
assessed. We follow the Krum School Calendar and observe
their holidays and days of inclement weather that fall
on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In the event of inclement
weather, tune to WBAP, KRU, or Channel 5 for news on
KISD closing. You may also call Krum ISD at 482-6000.
A list of the scheduled holidays for the 2008-2009 school
year on which Children’s Day Out will be closed
are:
. • November: 25th and 27th (Thanksgiving)
. • December: 23rd, 25th, and 30th (Christmas)
. • January: 1st (New Year) and 20th (student
holiday)
. • March: 17th and 19th (Spring Break)
Our last month of school is full of fun and celebration.
Please note the following dates and events as we wrap
up another outstanding year at Children's Day Out:
Pre-K field trip to Kindergarten Thursday, May 22nd.
CDO students who will be entering kindergarten next
fall will go to Hattie Dyer Elementary School to get
a taste of what kindergarten will be like. We will leave
CDO at 10:00 am and return after lunch. Lunch at the
school is $2.00 for children and $2.75 for adults. You
are welcome to join us and walk over and back with us.
Please sign a permission slip and return it by Tuesday,
May 20th.
Luau Day Thursday, May 29th. (Last day of school). We
will pretend we are on the beach having a Luau. We are
celebrating the last day of school with seaside music,
food, crafts and games. Please have your children wear
their swimsuits and bring a towel, cover-up and a change
of clothes. Make sure they are sun blocked. (We will
play some outside games where they will be in the sun
for a little while.) All towels, change of clothes bags,
sun screen, hats, etc, need to be labeled with your
child's name. In the event of rain, we will have an
indoor Luau, but the children can still wear their swim
suits!
End of the Year/Graduation Program Thursday, May 29th
6:30 pm.
We will recognize our teachers, perform for our family
and friends, and invite everyone there to participate
with us as we have chapel together. We will have a graduation
ceremony for the 18 CDO students (a CDO record) who
are going on to kindergarten next year. Please have
all graduates here by 6:15 pm so we can fit them with
their caps. We will meet upstairs in the sanctuary and
begin the program at 6:30 pm. Afterwards, we will go
downstairs for refreshments. We will have a sign-up
sheet next week for furnishing refreshments.
Teacher and Parents
Our teachers are experienced and dedicated
professionals who love children. Their commitment to our
program creates a positive, nurturing learning atmosphere
where children flourish. Children learn to respond to
their teachers and each other. This interaction fosters
social awareness, maturity, and character development.
Parents participate in the program by attending special
programs, helping with fundraisers, and organizing special
events.
